88 children placed into protective custody after reports of child abuse in Louisa County

Summary:
Eighty-eight children attending the Kingdom Ministry of Rehab and Recreation and the Shekinah Glory Camp in Columbus Junction, Iowa, were taken into protective custody following reports of child abuse and endangerment. The Louisa County Sheriff’s Office conducted a search of the religious camp with assistance from state and local agencies between June 12 and 13. The children were relocated to Wapello Methodist Church for assessment and temporary placement. The investigation is ongoing.
