Reporting abuse in Alaska

Alaska takes abuse reports by phone, email or fax, and says its hotline staff will answer questions about mandatory reporting and take all the required information over the phone - which is worth knowing if you are unsure whether what you have is enough to report. All the mental health licensing boards sit under one division, with a single investigations unit behind them.

The therapist's licensing board

Holds the individual clinician's licence and can suspend or revoke it.

Alaska Division of Corporations, Business and Professional Licensing

Staffs and investigates for the Board of Professional Counselors, the Board of Psychologist and Psychological Associate Examiners and the Board of Social Work Examiners, and the boards discipline the licence.

Use this whenA licensed professional counselor, psychologist, psychological associate or social worker in Alaska.

HowFile the complaint with the Division, which handles investigations for all three boards.

The agency that licenses the program

Inspects the facility itself and can cite, fine, suspend or close it.

Alaska residential child care facility licensing
