Reporting abuse in Mississippi

Mississippi sets the highest bar of any state here for complaining about a clinician: the complaint must be written, signed under oath and notarised, on the Board's own form, and it must name the specific statute or rule you say was broken and the dates of what happened. Anonymous complaints are not investigated at all. Worth preparing properly rather than sending something that will be returned.

The therapist's licensing board

Holds the individual clinician's licence and can suspend or revoke it.

Mississippi Board of Examiners for Social Workers and Marriage and Family Therapists

Multiple professions

It will not investigate an anonymous complaint, and it will only formally address one that arrives in writing on its form.

HowUse the Board's official complaint form. It must be in writing, signed under oath and notarised, must specify the statute or rule allegedly violated, and must set out the acts or omissions and the dates they happened. Post the completed notarised form to the Board.
