Research notes
- Newcomb and Kitty Rice founded Brush Ranch camp in 1956; a boarding school for middle and high school students with learning differences opened on the property in the 1970s (youretheheartofus.com, 'Brush Ranch: A Brief History').
- The final season of operation was 2004, after which the property was sold (youretheheartofus.com, 'Brush Ranch: A Brief History').
- In January 1999 the headmaster was Gary Emmons; the 283-acre campus straddles the Pecos River and the school took average-to-bright children with learning differences and acting-out behaviors (Struggling Teens visit report, February 1999).
- Added 2026-09-23 from the research network map (seeds/new-facilities.json).
