Child Victims Act: 7 lawsuits claim sex abuse at JCCA facilities in Pleasantville

Seven former residents have filed lawsuits under New York’s Child Victims Act alleging sexual abuse at JCCA’s Edenwald and Pleasantville Cottage Schools between the early 2000s and 2023. The suits accuse staff and residents of abuse and claim mandatory reporters failed to act. Allegations include repeated assaults, grooming, threats, neglect by staff, and continued contact with abusers despite police involvement. JCCA declined to comment due to pending litigation.
