Out of compliance, investigation inspection : R501-1-8(3) Medication and hazardous items maintenance and storage
The provider was out of compliance with R501-1-8(3) by failing to maintain potentially hazardous items in locked storage when not in active use. During the inspection, it was found that during a transition following client floor changes, an aerosol dry shampoo product was left unlocked and accessible in a client hygiene bin inside a bathroom. A client accessed the unsecured aerosol product, inhaled the contents, passed out, and required emergency medical attention.
